About BestCreditCardCanada.ca

What this site is, who writes the reviews, and how we keep the verdicts honest.

What this site is

BestCreditCardCanada.ca is an independent Canadian credit card comparison site. We help you answer one question: which card should you actually get. We compare cards by family, review individual cards against their own cardholder agreements, and end every page with a verdict you can act on.

Who writes the reviews

Reviews are written by Marcus Liang, a Toronto based credit card analyst who spent years on the credit products side of Canadian banking before moving to the consumer side of the desk. Marcus reviews cards the way an underwriter reads an application: pull the agreement, run the fee math on realistic spending, and say plainly who the card fits and who should skip it. The full process is documented in how we review credit cards.

How we make money, honestly

Some applications started from this site earn a referral fee from the issuer or its marketing partner. Two commitments keep that honest. First, every figure we publish comes from the issuer’s current public documents and carries the date it was verified, so you can check us. Second, verdicts are written before monetization is considered, and we recommend cards that earn us nothing whenever they are the better fit for the reader.

What we will not do

We do not promise guaranteed approvals, because no honest site can. We do not rank cards by commission. We do not write about travel points optimization for spenders whose budgets the math does not support. And we do not publish a rate or fee we have not checked against the issuer’s own documents.

Corrections

Issuers change terms without notice. If you spot a figure that no longer matches an issuer’s current documents, use our contact page and we will verify and correct the page, with an updated verification date.
