This page explains how BestCreditCardCanada.ca makes money, how that affects what you see, and what it does not affect. We publish it because a comparison site is only useful if you know how it is funded.

We are not a card issuer

BestCreditCardCanada.ca is an independent comparison site. We do not issue credit cards, make credit decisions, or set rates, fees or rewards. Every card on this site is issued by a bank, credit union or other regulated issuer, and any application you start is completed on the issuer’s or its partner’s secure site under its own terms and privacy policy.

How we are paid

Some applications started from this site earn us a referral fee from the card issuer or its marketing partner when you are approved. Cards that pay us are marked with an application link; cards we cover that pay us nothing are listed with the issuer’s own page instead. Compensation may affect which cards we are able to link to and where an application button appears on a page. It does not affect our verdicts, our fee math or the order of our rankings, which are based on the published terms of each card.

How we rank and review

What we do not do

Information, not advice

Our comparisons and guides are general information for Canadian readers. They are not financial advice and do not take your personal situation into account. Carrying a balance on any credit card is expensive; the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada publishes free tools for comparing card costs.
